About the Workshop:


Build your observation, communication, and palpation skills to a deeper and more meaningful level of understanding as it relates to the visual and palpation assessment of the clients in your practice.  Assess, Test, and Treat three specific and common pathologies with a step-by-step process that will translate into all of the other pathologies you see during your career. Learn how to observe a client's movements, which muscles are causing pain, and which muscles may need work in order to alleviate pain. Pull it all together and discover how to create an effective long-term session plan based on the structural needs of the client.

Participants will also gain a better understanding of Disk Pathology and Anatomy as well as the spine. Participants will observe Scoliosis, Whiplash, and Chronic Headache Clients receive assessment, testing, and treatment. Then participants will be able to work specifically with the client’s body while allowing time for the client to experience and track their progress as they move towards a greater sense of wellness.

  • Conduct a more Advanced History Taking
  • Perform Structural Analysis of the Upper Body
  • Determine appropriate Testing Methods for Pathology
  • Assess for structural changes that could increase stability
  • Design a session plan which  include Synergists and Agonists
  • Incorporate neuromuscular re-education by implementing Retest, AROM to reset muscles, Retest again procedure

About the Instructor:


Tammie Culley, LMT, MTI, is a 15-year graduate of The Lauterstein-Conway Massage School. She is the Internship Clinic Director for TLC and a massage therapist in the Austin/Round Rock area.  She has a small successful private practice, which allows her the honor of attending clients in a more personal setting.

Tammie is certified in Medical Massage Therapy and loves to work side-by-side with Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, and Doctors helping to bring learning, health, and healing to her clients and students.  She strives to understand the why of her client's discomfort in order to provide tailored and structural evidence-based massage sessions.  Tammie uses her understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to design creative and specific structural sessions for her clients.

Tammie is married and a mother of 4.  She has a limitless curiosity for learning and teaching and finds joy in this endeavor.  She also enjoys travel, reading, and spending time with her family.
