Workshop Description

Advanced Technique Deep Tissue & Myofascial Muscular Therapy for the Shoulder and Knee

In this workshop, you will learn several dozen myofascial and deep tissue massage techniques to address pain and injury in some of the most commonly injured structures of the shoulder and knee. You will also understand the anatomy of these structures as never before - through physically locating and palpating each structure with the help of the instructor.

In the first part of class you will learn to identify and palpate all of the major ligaments and muscles, tendons and accessible ligaments of the shoulder. You will then learn important myofascial techniques for working on the four rotator cuff muscles and temdpms - subscapularis, supraspinatus, infraspinatus and teres minor - as well as the acromioclavicular ligament of the shoulder.

In the second part of this one-day class, you will also learn to identify and palpate all of the major ligaments, muscles, and tendons of the knee. You will learn myofascial techniques for working on the medial and lateral collateral ligaments, the medial and lateral coronary ligaments, the medial and lateral quadriceps expansions, the medial and lateral retinacula and the intra and supra patellar tendon.

You will gain tremendous benefit from studying with Ben Benjamin, PhD. who has been one of the world’s finest teachers and practitioners of muscular therapy for over 50 years!
