This class teaches concepts, techniques, and processes essential for self-care for LMT’s or any other type of healthcare provider. It is an interactive class that offers tools for clearing physical issues along with processes to keep the mental, emotional, and spiritual/energetic layers clean and functional.

Students will better understand the body-mind connection and how energy within and around them has anatomic and physiological consequences. They will learn how to overcome physical and emotional issues that occur with transference and countertransference.

They will learn about the use of health care tools and techniques, including:

  • foam rollers
  • trigger point tools
  • still point induction balls
  • essential oils / aromatherapy
  • kinesiological self-tests
  • quick coherence techniques
  • pranic healing
  • EFT (emotional freedom technique)
  • TAT (tapas acupressure technique)
  • Specialized self-massage

Through this class you will learn how to manage your structure and your energy so you are even more clear, present, balanced, and energized in your relation to yourself and your clients.


BrendaYoungHeadshotBrenda Young, Licensed Massage Therapist, Instructor, and Certified Coach, began her massage therapy practice in 1989. She has 23 years experience in the field of alternative medicine and massage. With a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, and a minor in Biology, she grew her private practice while working in doctor’s offices, pain clinics, health and fitness institutes, spas, as well as in partnerships, establishing herself as a successful therapist in her field. Brenda has a passion for understanding how the body works, and loves sharing what she’s learned with others. She enjoys teaching classes on a variety of health topics, and is the Career Counselor as well as the primary teacher of the business curriculum at TLC.
